Major Accomplishments

01.

The Avalon Room

Main Street Inn, Hilton Head Island South Carolina

Opened the Avalon Room in the Main Street Inn in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. There I successfully fulfilled all requirements for a new food service business. Including designing an upscale menu, planning the kitchen layout, hiring and training a skilled staff, and implementing an effective advertising strategy.

02.

Seasons Bakery & Cafe

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

The Seasons Bakery and Cafe was a beloved member of the Gettysburg community, offering freshly baked goods and beverages to residents and visitors alike. As the owner, I was committed to providing excellent service and high-quality products that kept customers returning. In 2010, the decision to sell the cafe was made, but the recipes and memories will hold a special place in my heart.

03.

SCCAP Food Service Development Program

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

As the developer of a two-month curriculum designed to train low-income populations in the food service industry, I am proud to have helped individuals gain the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the workforce. The SCCAP Food Program had an 80% employment rate among program graduates.

04.

The Cake Bar LLC

Hanover, Pennsylvania

As the co-owner, I am proud to be a part of what is now a staple in the downtown Hanover community. Our bakery is known for its selection of upscale cakes and desserts, all made with expert attention to detail. We also offer a variety of barista-crafted beverages made with premium ingredients.

05.

Adams County Technical Institute

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

I developed a comprehensive curriculum based on the state program of study task list. In addition, I created a local task list which led to additional articulated college credits. The majority of the class is paperless, utilizing google classroom for formative and summative assessments. This also allows students to have 24/7 access to curriculum materials. I assist in our student organization, Skills USA, where culinary students have competed and earned medals every year. I began our first-ever ACTI scholarship, which has awarded between $2,500 – $5,000 to tech students attending post-secondary programs.

Educator Of The Year

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

The Gettysburg & Adams County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the Business Excellence Awards, where I was nominated and the recipient of Educator of the Year. When I think about all of the amazing educators out there, I’m humbled to have been chosen for this award.

I thank my students, colleagues, and the entire community for their support and encouragement. I’m excited to continue evolving as an educator and making a lasting impact on the lives of those I have the privilege to teach.
